Do Not Neglect A Crying Baby, Find Out Why They Are Crying

There are people who still think it’s good to let a baby cry every now and then. They believe that this prevents the child from being “spoiled”. However, it realistically does not work that way.

Babies need care and love from their parents to feel safe and secure on a physical and emotional level. A baby spends 9 months in their mother’s bosom before it comes into the world. They need constant protection to develop properly both physically and emotionally.

Motherhood can be exhausting. But when you realize that your baby needs your constant attention, you will realize that it is wonderful too. Letting a baby cry to teach them to “calm down” will only make them feel abandoned.

Although they will eventually stop crying after not being met, it will be because they now feel they cannot trust their primary protectors.

A baby (or a small child) cannot calm himself. Babies still have not developed the ability to regulate their most intense emotions. They need constant physical contact from their parents.

Babies need to feel the warmth and love of their protectors to calm down and know that everything is okay; knowing that they are well protected, safe and that they can trust the person who gave them life.

What happens when a baby cries

Crying baby

Babies cry when they are hungry, tired, annoyed, or when something hurts, and when they need love from their parents… When they cry, it is always for a reason.

They do not cry because they are “spoiled” – they cry because they have a specific need that we need to take care of. They have no other way to communicate with you. Crying is the only means of communication.

When a mother worries and finds out the reason why their baby is crying, the baby may calm down because their needs are met. In addition, they understand that they can trust you. Motherhood is fragile, sensitive, and babies’ basic needs must be addressed from the moment they are born.

The silence of unattended babies

There is a heartbreaking story that pulls at the heartstrings of anyone with empathy. This story makes you rethink the baby’s needs. The story is about a missionary who visits an orphanage in Uganda. He went into a room where there were 100 cots with babies in them.

However, there was something that seemed strange to him. Not one baby cried. The room with more than 100 cots was completely quiet. How could this be possible?

The missionary did not understand the root of this strange silence. He was contacted by a worker at the orphanage who told him the babies had been there for a week.

After crying day and night, they realized that no one would help them. They realized they would not be taken care of. They felt abandoned. No one would take care of them… They were alone.

This lack of attention and abandonment that babies feel leaves permanent wounds on their identity. They stop being babies and somehow they realize they have to stop crying because they can not trust anyone. This is awful for emotional development and therefore no adult should let a baby cry. They must always be alert.

When your baby cries

When your baby cries, do not get annoyed. Crying is their only means of communicating with you at any time of the day. There will be moments when you will be exhausted and lack energy.

However, your baby needs your unconditional love and attention. It is something primordial for their development to keep their emotional bond with you. Your baby should always know that you are by their side, that they are not alone. Abandonment should not exist for them.

Babies need their parents to always take care of them and give them unconditional love. Tell them you’re always by their side.

They need their parents to give them a promise that they will not be alone; that they will not be allowed to cry, but rather will be understood, and that their parents will realize that crying is their only form of communication.
